Greetings and welcome to the Grand Meadow School!

It is with great enthusiasm that we are under way with the 2016-2017 school year! This is my first year at Grand Meadow and I look to make this a rich learning experience for our Superlarks. There is an incredible tradition of excellence within this school and we want to help continue to push that excellence forward. Our mission is to provide educational excellence for all learners in a global society. Our vision is that we will create a safe learning environment that inspires and prepares students for a global society. It takes everyone to make this happen at a high level.

One tremendous impact on our mission and vision is through relationships. As the 5-12 principal, I see this as one of the most critical facets in the acquisition of knowledge. We as educators can develop and try many avenues to increase student achievement but a large portion of what they learn is determined by how well we are able to reach and build trust in our students.

Being new to Grand Meadow, it is evident by support and turnout to events how important the school relationship is to the community. My goal is to continue to strengthen the solid bond the people of Grand Meadow have with the school. An overarching philosophy of mine is to continue creating effective, productive citizens. Together, we can achieve this and I encourage you to stop in and visit the school and we greatly anticipate the new facility opening late fall.

I have been in education for fourteen years. My family consists of my wife Pam who is an educator as well, a daughter Claire 8, and Andrew, Joseph, and Elaine, all 5. Yes, they are triplets. We have a small farm outside of Blooming Prairie with a golden retriever named Daisy, two goats Gabe and Dave and some egg laying chickens as well as numerous cats. I am originally from the Preston area as I grew up on a farm and continue to enjoy being involved.

As we embark on the start of a new year, one area we have been reflecting on is knowing the impact everyone has, no matter what your job or role is. I would ask yourself to reflect on the positive impact you have, or can have on our students and school. Thank you for your support and go Superlarks!
