6th Grade Track and Field Day

Dear Parents,

On Friday, May 19th the 6th graders from Southland, Sacred Heart, LeRoy-Ostrander, Kingsland, and Grand Meadow will participate in the 6th Grade Track and Field Day at the track facility in Grand Meadow.   The 6thgraders will have the opportunity to learn about the different events involved in track and field and then compete in both field and running events.

The schools will provide sack lunches and busses will transport the LeRoy-Ostrander, Kingsland, and Southland/Sacred Heart students to Grand Meadow.   Students will leave at 8:30 a.m. and return to Adams, Kingsland or LeRoy by 2:15 p.m.  Parents are invited to come watch the competitions.  

Time Schedule:
9:15-9:30 a.m. Welcome
9:30-11:15 a.m. Stations (led by varsity athletes)

  • Long Jump
  • High Jump
  • Shot Put
  • Discus
  • Triple Jump
  • Hurdles
  • Relays 
  • Block Starts

 
11:15-11:45 a.m. Lunch Break 
11:45-12:00 p.m. Teams meet with coaches to determine running events.
12:00-12:45 p.m. Field Event Competitions 
12:45-1:45 p.m. Running Event Competitions

Prizes will be awarded to heat winners and the top 3 in each field event.
