Welcome! My name is Jodi Munson and I am the 6th grade teacher for the entire grade level. I am a mentor to our new and nontenured teachers and I am also the district Gifted and Talented Coordinator. This is my 8th year at Grand Meadow Schools and my 24th year of teaching. I received my Elementary Education/Kindergarten/Early Childhood degrees from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse in 2001. I received my Master's of Reading and Literature from Walden University in 2004.
My husband Mike works at Thermo King in Stewartville and we have an 19 year old son and a 15 year old daughter. Connor graduated from Grand Meadow in 2023 and works full time at Featherlite Trailers in Cresco, IA, as a draftsman. Claire is a 10th grader and plays volleyball and softball. We also have a spoiled 3.5 year old pug, named Henry Allen Pug, who we love with all of our hearts - even when he's been naughty. We live in the country, near Rose Creek, on an acreage.
I absolutely LOVE to read and I have a book with me at all times!!!! I also love to shop, go for walks, organize anything and everything, spend time with my kids, watch Claire play volleyball and softball, go to the races at Deer Creek, watch Connor race his mini-mod race car at Chateau in Lansing and in Mason City, and cuddle with Henry when he isn't running around acting crazy.
It is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to this coming school year! Reading is my greatest passion and I can not wait to begin to instill that same love of reading into each of my students, as we also learn enormous amounts in Math, Science, and Social Studies. This will be an exciting school year for all of us! Stay tuned for all that is to come! As long as we all work together, we will be successful!
