Classroom Expectations

“Be Accountable, Be Courteous, and Be Active Learners Everyday”

1. Be Responsible: Each student will come to class on time with their Ipad or laptop, paper, pencil, pen, textbook, and any other needed materials for that specific class. Always do your best. Be accountable for your choices. Think before you act – consider the consequences.

2. Be Respectful: Each student will show respect to the teacher, teachers’ assistants, other students, and to the property of others. This includes all faculty, especially substitute teachers. Be on task during class. Use good manners. Don’t use inappropriate language or put others down.

3. Be Trustworthy: Be honest. Do your own work and don’t cheat. Don’t plagiarize. Honor above all!

4. Be Caring: Be kind. Show you care about others by helping them. Use the words “please” and “thank you.”

5. Be Fair: Follow the rules. Be open-minded; listen to others. Don’t blame others for your actions.

6. Be Active Citizens: Do your share to make your school and community better. Cooperate. Get involved in extracurricular activities. Obey laws and rules. Protect the environment by recycling, turning off lights computes, etc. when not in use.

Other Rules:  Please refer to the Student Handbook for specific details. Below are a few rules that I will address:

Bathroom:  Please use the bathroom between passing time.  If you need it during class time, you will need to sign out and take the bathroom lanyard.  You will be allowed 4 bathroom passes/quarter.  Cell phones are NOT allowed in bathrooms and must stay in the phone pockets.

Cell phones:  Students will put cell phones in the cell phone pocket during class and attendance will be based on whether their phone is in the pocket or not.  If the student does not have a cell phone or do not have a phone for that day, they will be given a card to put in the pocket.  If they choose to not follow this rule, the phone will be taken and turned into the office.  See handbook for consequences.

Dress Code:  Please refer to handbook for appropriate school attire.  If the dress code is not followed, the student will be sent to the office for clothing that is appropriate.

Tardies:  If you are not in the classroom when the bell rings, you will be marked tardy unless you have a pass.
4 tardies = detention
